Remember Porter Wagoner, the old-time country star who recently made a comeback? It was just a couple months ago that we were talking about his comeback and the show he did with the White Stripes.
Well, he's in the news again, and it's not good. He's in the hospital. His ailment is unspecified, but it seems he's in bad shape. He's asking for your hopes and prayers. If you're a hoper or a prayer, spare the old sod a little of your time, eh? He seemed pretty popular in my previous post - in fact, he set a Trolling the Underground comment record that will be difficult to beat!
Best wishes, PW, for a speedy and complete recovery. Let's make this historic comeback last!

dude! i do care about porter, i do. i have an early memory of being at lisa hansen's house and hearing his records, because her parents loved him. they loved all things to do with country and the grand ole opry. that was all new to me, as my folks were mostly jazz freaks.
the old guy has heart and soul, no doubt. |

I tried to leave a "GWS Porter" comment the other day but Blogdrive was being all wonky.

WOW, what a flush of memories you just gave an old lady!!!!!
I LOVED his suits. He wore the original bling bling. My dad and I would watch him on grand ol opry and dance together. OOOOPPPS here comes the flood from the eyes. Dad passed in 1987. Thanks for the heart smile (happy memory). I hope the gods smile on Porter no matter what happens to his physical being.

tootsie - I'm glad. This old country stuff always makes me think of my dad, too, who's still with us. |
