Musically Speaking.......
Have you seen what O'Tim & Jefe are up to? You should!
Are you in the Christmas spirit? Nat is! She's not doing the same old same old, though. She's posting a different Christmas song every day, and so far there has only been ONE that I've heard before. If you think you're ready for some new tunes this season, Nat's is the place to be!
And if that isn't enough to soothe your savage breast, return here tomorrow for a new Trolling the Studio, where I'll explore one of the most popular albums of the 70s. Any guesses?

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac?

I am pretty sure it won't be Rumours or Hotel California.
ANd thanks for the plug, Joe!

So far Nat's on the right trail.
Hint: short reunion in the 90s.

The 70s make me think of the Sex Pistols, Bowie, Glam Rock and Barry Manilow singing about Lola being a showgirl with feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there.
Not any of them is it. | |

I'm on the right trail by saying who it's NOT? LOL.
Is it not Led Zep or Queen or Floyd, or The Clash or The Ramones or Yes or Bowie, too? ;)
I know it can't be Rumours. You don't like that iteration of FM, so why would you post studio stuff of it?

Nat - no, I mean it definitely isn't any crap like that! I may have stepped too far with that "most popular" tag, but it was a very popular album that got a LOT of album play and still does on the classic stations. It's more on the progressive side than pop, though. You'll dig it.
Lucy - you may not have been on the scene yet when I did Bowie. It was one of my first TtU posts. Here it is if you want:

Frampton Comes Alive? | |

LOL, Cody. Frampton Does Prog?
Hmmm. Yes? Genesis? ELP? ELO? Am I gettin' warm?

No, although I'll get to those first three eventually.
They're kind of a loose fit in prog, actually, but their later stuff does fit. They started pretty psychedelic, but grew less so in the 70s.
One last hint, because I'll be posting it tomorrow, anyway. A murderer plays on this record.

Annie - I was referring to Jim Gordon, who was diagnosed with acute paranoid schizophrenia a couple years before killing his mom. He's still in a mental ward somewhere. If you look at the link in the Traffic story (his name) you'll see how much he did during his career - he played on so much I know you've heard him more than you think. He also co-wrote both "Rock & Roll Stew" and "Layla".

Sorry joe but the Bowie link leads to an 'oops, the page you want is missing' page.
