| jollykay October 8, 2006 05:22 PM PDT this is a good one. ney is the congressman for my district. you would think this would be headlines in the local hometown newspaper- not a peep. i asked some locals what ney had pled guilty to- nobody knew- not one person. (conspiracy and making false statements) (he is involved in the abramoff thingy- big time) he is supposed to go to jail for two years. everybody knows what foley did. ney, around here is a big secret. i don't get it. | ||
| Joe the Troll October 9, 2006 06:21 AM PDT People are far more interested in scandals involving sex. Look at Clinton. Everybody paid attention to that. "That White House is OURS and we have a right to know everything that goes on in it." was something I heard over and over again in those days. There is far more blatant misuse of our government now, but no one wants to know about it becausse there's no sex. Myself, I think it's odd that I have the right to know who the President diddles but I DON'T have the right to know who sets our energy policies. There may not be a sex scandal there, but we the people are sure getting screwed. | ||

| Tim October 9, 2006 08:20 AM PDT What really frightens me is that I think the Republican'ts will still be running the show after the elections. Maybe disgust is a better word. | ||
| Cheezy October 10, 2006 04:54 AM PDT At least Bill was getting his jollies with a real live warm woman in the same room as him (albeit it was only Monica Lewinsky)... This Foley guy is much sadder... So c'mon down, Kenneth Starr!.... No? Not interested, Kenny? | ||
