When I set up this imaginary fistfight between Matt Dillon and James T. Kirk, I meant THIS Matt Dillon....
(the guy with the star), NOT this Matt Dillon.....
....whom I had forgotten about altogether. Shit, Yeoman Rand could kick HIS ass. Not so crazy now, am I? |
| Mark August 3, 2006 07:54 PM PDT Oh, well, Marshall Dillon, then!!! Definitely!!! | ||
| Paula August 3, 2006 08:09 PM PDT Ooh, yummy! Okay, I'll take two of the law dude. What was the question? | ||
| ruth August 3, 2006 08:29 PM PDT Just damn Joe! I thought you meant the girly one. | ||
| Joe the Troll August 3, 2006 09:06 PM PDT The universe now makes some sort of sense again. | ||
| nat August 3, 2006 10:12 PM PDT See, all along I was thinking of the candyass guy! GEEZ. Kirk and his phaser vs. Marshall Dillon and his gun. Kirk wins. In a fist fight, Dillon's got the edge. And Dillon would win a stare-down, too. | ||
| Miss Cellania August 3, 2006 10:17 PM PDT Yeah, what Nat said. Technology triumphs, but Kirk was a wimp compared to the Marshall. | ||
| Joe the Troll August 3, 2006 10:26 PM PDT Dillon would TOTALLY win a stare-down! | ||
| nat August 3, 2006 10:43 PM PDT I say it's high time for another poll, Joe. ;) And don't confuse me again! bwaahaahaaaa!! | ||
| jollykay August 4, 2006 05:35 AM PDT okay, i was talking about the marshall, you have seen kirk pound the crap out of a klingon, right? the marshall might be big, but he isn't a klingon, and he doesn't know the vulcan nerve pinch. | ||
| jollykay August 4, 2006 05:39 AM PDT and then there is the whole side kick lack on dillon's part- who's he got? festus? on a mule? please. you have got to be kidding. kirk has spock, side kick extrordinaire. (kirk has better horses, too, btw) | ||
| Joe the Troll August 4, 2006 06:17 AM PDT Nat- new polls every Sunday. Maybe I should re-set this one so everyone can vote again? Jollykay- Only Vulcans can do the Vulcan Nerve Pinch, as it involves channelling energy through the fingers and out of the fingertips. Humans can't do that. (I TOLD you I know my Trek). Spock was the best sidekick, but Festus was cool, and so was his mule, Ruth. (Did you know that the guy that played Festus was also the guy that sang "Tumblin' Tumbleweeds"?) He had no book learnin' but he has some street smarts. The guy in the picture is Chester (Dennis Weaver) who was a good man but dumb as a rock. But see, Marshall Dillon was so effective, he didn't NEED a good deputy. | ||
| jollykay August 4, 2006 06:38 AM PDT i wouldn't bet the farm on it, but i am pretty sure i have seen kirk do the nerve pinch thing. | ||
| Joe the Troll August 4, 2006 06:52 AM PDT Nope. According to the Star Trek Encyclopedia, few non-Vulcans ever learned it. Spock tried to teach Kirk, but failed. Data learned it, though. | ||
| nat August 4, 2006 08:56 AM PDT DOn't tell me you own a Star Trek Encyclopedia. Please. Don't. | ||
| Joe the Troll August 4, 2006 11:03 AM PDT It was a gift, Nat. I wouldn't buy such a thing for myself. | ||
